Finally I get to play the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans — a musical destination that I had craved for many a year. With homegrown talent and the likes of Clarence Frogman Henry, Dave Bartholomew, Fats Domino, Frankie Ford, Dr John, Professor Longhair, The Mardis Gras Indians, The Metres, The Neville Brothers, Hughey ‘Piano’ Smith and the magnificent blind blues minstrel Snooks Eaglin - the list is endless of the talent that was born and raised in this magickal area. Frankie Ford was still appearing at his bar in Bourbon Street at the time that we played there.
Bourbon Street pulsated with energy and the indigenous music. I had the appetite for all of it!
Music featured: Come Back Baby by Snooks Eaglin. He was a street singer continuing the tradition of a previous blues generation.
